Our patented SubflowRxTMtechnology aims to solve the problems that are prevalent with traditional permeable reactive barrier (PRB) or funnel-and-gate systems. A traditional PRB is effectively a trench filled with permeable reactive treatment material (PRM). The trench is placed across the path of natural groundwater flow with the intent that contaminated groundwater will flow through the thickness of the wall or gate.
Key components of the SubflowRxinclude a PileGateTM, a replaceable treatment cartridge (the CartridgeRxTM), and connected sheet piles. Each PileGate includes two vertically-offset screens, one on each side of the sheet pile barrier wall. Contaminated groundwater flows in one screen, travels vertically through the PileGate and the installed CartridgeRx, and treated groundwater flows out the opposite screen at a different elevation.
