Principal Hydrogeologist, Co-Owner, and Managing Partner

W. Joseph Alexander, P.G.

Joe is a hydrogeologist with experience characterizing and remediating contaminated sites throughout the United States and abroad. He founded Ai-RS in 2015 and has worked full time to commercialize his ideas for an improved permeable reactive barrier.

Joe’s prior professional experience includes a 30-year geosciences career at RTI International preceded by ten years of work as a hydrogeologist and engineering geologist with environmental and engineering consulting companies. His degrees are in geology with specialized training in hydrogeology and engineering geology. He maintains professional geology registrations in several states to support his consulting practices.

Gregory W. Lucier, Ph.D.

Greg joined Ai-RS in 2016 to enhance the technical design of the remedial system and to identify component manufacturers. He is currently leading the company’s development of a tritium separation cartridge for the Ai-RS Technology.

Greg is a full-time Research Assistant Professor and Manager of the Constructed Facilities Laboratory (CFL) in the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department at North Carolina State University. He conducts research in the fields of Structural Engineering and Construction Engineering and Management. Greg spends most of his time at the University directing research and testing sponsored by industrial partners, where he oversees a professional staff, undergraduate, and graduate students.
